OK, so Thursday, Sarah comes back from work, and we're debating what to have for dinner, and she says to me: "Did you get my Email?"
I'm all like: "No."
Turns out her email was about whether or not I wanted to go see Regina Spektor. More specifically, whther or not I wanted to jump into the car and go see Regina Spektor right then.
I've been listening to Mz. Spektor for a few months now, ever since someone pointed her out to me in KOL Chat (I think it was Armak, but I'm not entirely sure.) So of course I was all about seeing her live.
Best. Show. Ever.
The opening act was Only Son. He's one of the guys who used to be in Moldy Peaches, and he used a iPod for a band. Despite all of that, he was good. Really good. Then came the worst part of teh show: the bizzare half-hour lag between the opening act and Regina.
Once she got there though, and after a brief reel at how large the Moore Theater was, she commenced to systematically kicking the ass of just about every live show I'd ever been to. I bought a CD, because I didn't really like any of the shirts they had, and then we went home.
I'm not conveying how awesome this show was. It was really amazingly incredibly good. It was so good that I was able to completely ignore the incredibly uncomfortable seats for the whole thing. And still, it was better then I'm letting on. I'm not good at this. |
