OK, so I just got done watching the very pinnacle of cinematic achievement. The zenith of human capability as applied to filmmaking. The ultimate in, uh... movie good stuff.
I have just finished watching "Vampyros Lesbos," a 1971 "gender-bending retelling of Bram Stoker's 'Dracula,' featuruing a sexy lesbian vampire countess"
Starring Jose the Scorpion, a giant pair of purple sunglasses, a big red kite, and some sort of industrial boat, "Vampyros Lesbos" is better than anything Americans could possibly produce, because, of course, it's foriegn. In fact, "Vampyros Lesbos" is more foreign than any other foreign film you've ever seen, because it is not only subtitled in english with spoken german, but it is dubbed in german over, um, possibly italian.
I give this film one exploding head, one opposable thumb, and thirty-seven what-the-fucks. |
